two new ones.

Nearness

“Nearness”-Lovelite

Lovelite’s new album “Nearness” is out today. Go get it free here. Seriously. Awesome, inspirational Euro-atmospheric inspired worship. Draws some pretty big influence from bands like Athlete, Keane, and Embrace.

Nine O Five

“With Everything” (Single)-Nine O Five with Aaron Gillespie

Just stumbled across this one today. Never heard of Nine O Five, but they’re from Canada and pretty good. Plus, this is with Aaron Gillespie. Really well done typographic cover art too. Get it free here.

take the world, but give me Jesus.

Yup, this is another post about new music. In the last couple weeks some awesome bands on the Come&Live! label have released their newest albums:

Ascend The Hill-Take The World, But Give Me Jesus

Take The World, But Give Me Jesus

Ascend The Hill is awesome, seriously. This their second album on the C&L! label does not disappoint. The whole album is made up of recreated hymns. Truly unique. Free for download here.

The Ember Days-Finger Painting EP

Finger Painting EP

The Ember Days have captured my attention since I heard about them a year ago. Every one of their albums is a little different in style, and they’re all equally great. But this new release is one of the best things I’ve heard all year. Only five songs in length, this album uses instrumental worship almost entirely, except for a recreation of “It Is Well” and a new original song “Simple Song.” Pretty sure this one will easily make it pretty far up on my list this year. Also free for download here.

Anberlin-Dark is the Way, Light is a Place

Dark is the Way, Light is a Place

This one’s not from Come&Live!, but I couldn’t leave it out. Anberlin’s fifth album just snuck up out of nowhere and has taken the sound waves by storm. I’ve never been a huge fan of Anberlin, but this album is amazing. Seriously good. A little more classic Anberlin sound than New Surrender was. Buy it here. Or get it on iTunes of course.

I Am Living: Aaron Gillespie

The music ministry label Come&Live! sat down with Aaron Gillespie to discuss his shift in music in the past year. Inspiring and convicting, to say the least.

musical goodness.

Fall semester 2010 has begun with a whirlwind. And some good new music as well:

The Sleep Design-All That Is Not Music Is Silence

All That Is Not Music Is Silence

If you like instrumental music along the lines of Explosions in the Sky or The Album Leaf, then check this out. Wordless worship music. Amazing. I’ve been listening to this album since the beginning of the summer and am loving it. You can download the whole album free from Come&Live! And if you haven’t heard of Come&Live! yet, check out the rest of their website—they give all the music from the bands on the label away and have a pretty cool outreach ministry.

Asiah Mehok-Love & The Carousel

Love & The Carousel

This is great. If you like female vocalists with a sort of Ingrid Michaelson meets Sarah McLachlan flair, check out Asiah’s music. Infectious. A friend of mine played some guitars on the EP and it was produced by Cleveland’s newest professional producer, Chris Garmon. Top-notch stuff. You can download the EP from iTunes or Asiah’s website.

Still spinning “The Medicine” by John Mark McMillan. This album is so good.
